Insurance Advice For Learner Drivers
You must have a valid insurance certificate covering you for third party liability. Before driving any vehicle, make sure that it has cover for your use or that your own insurance gives you adequate cover. You MUST NOT drive a vehicle without insurance.

You may be able to reduce the premium you pay by restricting the cover granted by the policy. For example - you could limit the number of people who will drive the vehicle.

Another way of cutting your insurance costs is to agree to pay the first part of any claim. This is known as an 'excess' and has the advantage that you will know in advance how much you will need to pay towards any claim you make. The policy may already be subject to an excess, which you can generally increase.

Young drivers may be able to obtain an initial discount on their first years policy if they have passed the "Pass Plus" exam.
